about
What inspired Blossom in July in essence is the type of music I grew up listening to. During production, I had a nostalgic trip, bringing back memories of my childhood having been exposed to so much good music by my friends and family. With our country being one of the dance capitals of the world, house music is a genre that's deeply entrenched in my soul. Blossom in July sums that up well and it fuses all the types of sounds that remind me of my life's journey, the people I've met and our encounters and blending all of that with where I am now hence "Blossom." Like an old tree, deeply-rooted in the earth, with years of life marked in the rings of its bark, yet blossoming anew... "in July" is merely a sign of the times, it's not likely for a tree to blossom in July (in the southern hemisphere), emphasizing the start of something new at such a desolate time.
